about

far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing

theodore roosevelt (1858−1919), US president

a translator and interpreter by training, i specialized in medical communications soon after graduating from university in both vienna, austria, and monterey, california.

why medicine? inspired by my husband, now a medical doctor in private practice, i ventured into this challenging field and have, over the decades, established a strong expertise in mapping even the most complex clinical or regulatory content into easy-to-read text—seamlessly switching between my native german and english.

the text clinic allows me to combine my life-long infatuation with the english language with working in one of the most fascinating subject-matter fields, supporting cutting-edge research organizations in their communication goals.

before founding the text clinic in 2006, i held various positions as healthcare communicator, most recently as medical writer in the international clinical development department that brought forth the world’s first biosimilar. a stint into the software industry as technical writer and positions as multilingual translation manager and lead translator have rounded off my IT and documentation expertise. today, i look back on close to 30 years of professional experience and countless documents that have left my desk.
